It’s not often that I see a past “Best of the Year“ product on sale, but that is the case with my top pick of 2023 - this easy-release ice cube tray. In December 2022 I stepped out of the review lane and discussed some ways in which unscrupulous Amazon vendors game the system for their own benefit, and to the detriment of consumers. Although it’s been two years since that video was made, most of these problems remain!

Three Tips for Wiser Shopping

Check Multiple Retailers. Sometimes the same product is listed cheaper on smaller sites or different marketplaces. Amazon is usually the fastest, but it isn’t always the cheapest!

Know Your Return Policies. Before buying, check the return window and restocking fees, especially for online orders and expensive items like TV’s or electronics.

Use a Credit Card for Big Purchases. Credit cards often provide purchase protection and extended warranties that debit cards don’t.
