10 Gadgets Revisited – What Survived an Entire Year?

Plus: A bizarre old favorite, 3 hot deals (including a “Mom Approved” kitchen staple), and more!

Today I’ve got a fresh video update for you this week, and it’s a good one: 10 past products I reviewed exactly one year ago, revisited! That’s right, it’s the latest edition of my “Update” series! Some are still in regular use, while others… not so much. I’ve also dug into the archives to spotlight a strange gadget from three years back that turned out to be surprisingly useful. Plus, I’ve found three solid deals worth checking out, including a kitchen favorite I’ve been using since 2017.

NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Update 57!

Which products remained useful after a year?

🎥 My latest video is online now, and it's the 57th episode in my long-running “Update” series! In these videos, I revisit 10 products I reviewed exactly one year ago and give you the inside scoop: Did I keep using them? Did I give them away? Or did they end up in The Boneyard?

This one covers a pretty wild mix: random Kohl's gadgets, a Cheetos dusting tool, a folding picnic table, and more.

A few key moments:
🔪 Did the Temu veggie shredder actually prove to be useful?
🏕️ Is the Outsunny folding table still part of my setup, or was it a one-hit wonder?
🧇 Did the Presto Stuffler become my go-to waffle maker, or did it end up back in the box?

DEALS 🏷️
Gotham Steel Pasta Pot: 35% Off

This is one of the oldest products I’ve reviewed, and I still use it! I first tested it back in 2017, and it's held up after literally hundreds of uses. Right now, it’s 35% off, the lowest price I’ve tracked since before Christmas. It’s also one of my mom’s favorite kitchen gadgets I’ve tested… and it doesn’t get any better than Mom Approved.

💧Ninja Thirsti: 44% Off

Seeing a Ninja product at 44% off is rare enough, but seeing the Thirsti - one of their most heavily advertised products in recent years - under $100? That’s practically unheard of. I used mine extensively, and it’s a solid alternative to other soda-making machines. This Limited Time Deal probably won’t stick around long.

🍩 Dash MultiMaker – 15% Off

When I reviewed the “Mini” version of this product, my biggest gripe was the price. This larger version makes donuts, waffle bites, and cupcakes, and it’s now at the lowest price I’ve seen in months. I’m a fan of Dash products in general, and this is one of their more versatile gadgets.

Prevent Rust on Shower Caddies!
Coat metal shower caddies with clear nail polish or car wax to prevent rust from forming in humid conditions.

PILLOW STAND (2022)

This is what it looks like when you combine a phone stand with a pillow!

Two years ago this week, I did something a little different: I reviewed a new item every day for an entire week - all unsolicited and sent to my PO Box. One of the standouts from that batch was a bizarre hybrid that combined a pillow with a phone stand.

While it may sound like a match made on Mars, the final result was oddly functional, and it actually got a respectable amount of use around my house.

If you missed the original review back then, today might be the perfect time to witness this strange-but-useful gadget in action!

SMART SHOPPING 🛒
Three Tips for Wiser Shopping

Double Up on Credit Card Points: Use credit cards that give bonus points for certain categories, and stack them with store promotions for extra savings.

Redeem Loyalty Points at the Best Value: Some stores let you use points for discounts or cashback. Check the best conversion rates to maximize value.

Ask for a Price Match After Buying: Many stores will refund the difference if the price drops within a set timeframe. Set a reminder to check after your purchase.
