Tiny, Cheap, Ridiculous... and Maybe Even Useful?
Watch today’s review, check out a trusty flashback, and don’t miss this week’s deals.

Today’s video dives into five cheap and ridiculous little gadgets that caught my eye online. A few of them might even surprise you. I’ve also got a flashback to a product that’s still going strong two years later, plus a few solid deals I found while browsing around this week.
Let’s jump in!
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Tiny, Cheap, & Ridiculous!
My latest video is now live! Today I'm testing five strange gadgets that are tiny, cheap (all under $15), and borderline ridiculous. Here's what's on the chopping block:
Silicone pot holders that barely fit a single finger
A crab-shaped utensil rest (yes, really)
A UV-activated duck!
A special holder just for your ChapStick
And… the World’s Smallest Blender
I put all five of these strange products to the test to see if they’re clever, useless, or surprisingly effective, and the results were all over the map. Click the link below to watch the full review!
Note: This email is hitting inboxes a few hours early, so if you want to be fashionably early to the comments section, now’s your chance.
DEALS 🏷️
Wahl Trimmer: 23% Off

I used the Vacutrim (review) to maintain my beard for well over a year, but last year I switched to this Wahl trimmer, and I’m happy with the results. The blade cuts through hair like butter, it comes with a ton of attachments to dial in your ideal length, and the battery holds a charge for weeks. It normally goes for around $44, but it’s currently marked down to $33.99, making it worth a closer look.
Ototo Bat Scissors: 38% Off
It might be a little early for Halloween (though Spirit Halloween would disagree), but these bat-shaped scissors are on sale and could probably be used all year long. They usually go for $18, but they’re currently $9.95, and Amazon lists them as a frequently kept item.
Shark Air Purifier: 20% Off
If you’ve been eyeing a quality air purifier, this one’s worth checking out. The Shark NeverChange model is known for its solid performance and is especially popular among pet owners. Regularly priced around $250, it’s now marked down to about $200, is a solid deal for a trusted brand.
Dusting Hack: Use a Paintbrush for Small Spaces
For difficult spots like vents, keyboards, lamp shades, or carved furniture, try using a clean, dry paintbrush. The soft bristles are perfect for removing dust without kicking it up into the air. You can also use a small handheld vacuum in the other hand to suck up dust as you go.

Countertop Ice Maker (2023)
Two years ago today, I reviewed the Frigidaire countertop ice maker, a product I got a lot of requests to test. At the time, I found that it worked as advertised, and two years later I can say that it still does.
This appliance has become a daily workhorse, filling in for my fridge’s unreliable ice maker. It’s still on my counter, still running strong, and I’ve had no issues since the day I reviewed it.

📺 My Top 10 for August 2025 is live! This playlist highlights the most popular videos on Freakin’ Reviews right now. The bottom of this month’s Top 10 includes three Ninja appliances that continue to make this list. Check out the full playlist to see if there’s a gem you missed, or a video worth rewatching!
That’s it for today’s roundup!
Before I wrap up, I wanted to say a quick word about the public vlogs. I started posting them back in May as a bit of a summer experiment. While I’ve enjoyed making them, and I really appreciate everyone who watched and commented, I’ve decided that it’s time to wind them down for now and focus on reviews.
Going forward, I’ll still be posting the occasional vlog for members, but the public vlogs won’t be a regular part of the schedule anymore. But never say never… and a public vlog might still pop up from time to time.
Until next time,
James
