With Christmas right around the corner, I’ve dropped my latest video, a fun and lighthearted collection of quirky finds that includes two food items and two gadgets. In fact, I think it’s the first time I’ve ever paired two food and two non-food items in one video, but their shared strangeness ties it all together! Along with the video, this newsletter features some handpicked deals, a nostalgic look back at what I posted on this day in past years, and even a rare link to another YouTube channel as the “Honey” drama takes over the platform.
Let’s dive in first with…

Testing viewer requests
My latest video is live, and I’m testing four strange viewer-requested products that are as quirky as they sound! Here’s what I put to the test:
🎵 Humbird Speaker: Can it really turn anything into a speaker?
🍽️ DishWinkle Dishwasher Indicator: Clever or completely unnecessary?
🍿 Oscar Mayer Bacon Cheddar Popcorn: Smoky, cheesy perfection or a flavor flop?
🥒 Bob’s Pickle Pops: A salty frozen treat or a sour misstep?
Click below to find out which products surprised me and which ones might just belong in the “never again” pile!

DEALS
Candle by the Hour: 32% Off

Although my YouTube channel has been around since 2016, it wasn’t until late 2023 that I reviewed my first candle, called Candle by the Hour. I’ve mentioned this fairly regularly over the past year because of it’s interesting design. Now it’s on sale for 32% off, which puts its price point and a level I would feel more comfortable with.
If you want to see this in action, watch my full review of Candle by the Hour, or read it here if you just want a quick synopsis.
Chubby Buttons: 15% Off
At first glance, wearing oversized Bluetooth buttons on your wrist might seem a little quirky, but Chubby Buttons are cleverly designed to give you easy access to your phone’s key controls, even while wearing bulky gloves. With a 15% discount now available, the price makes it a bit more tempting for anyone who’s been on the fence about giving them a try.
Pizza Pack: 20% Off
I’m a big fan of both pizza and gadgets, so pizza gadgets are right up my alley. Back in mid-2022, I tested the Pizza Pack and was genuinely impressed. It’s a straightforward gadget that does exactly what it promises: storing nearly an entire pizza vertically, saving tons of fridge space. With its current 20% discount, it’s even more tempting for pizza lovers looking to keep those leftovers fresh and organized.
Avoid tangling holiday lights.
Wrap them around a sturdy piece of cardboard or an old hanger for easy storage.

Testing Coke Store gadgets in 2022.
Exactly two years ago today, I shared my review of some unusual gadgets from the Coke Store. I ventured down to the iconic Coke Store on the Las Vegas Strip and picked up a collection of intriguing items to test. While the Coke phone bank found a new home as a giveaway, the Coke ice cream scoop still makes an occasional appearance in my kitchen. Have you ever visited a Coke Store and come across their fun, branded merchandise?
SMART SHOPPING
Three Tips for Wiser Shopping
Avoid Common Shopping “Triggers.” Recognize impulse shopping cues like “ending soon” timers or pop-ups claiming high demand.
Opt for Refurbished Smartphones from Certified Sellers. Companies like Apple and Samsung offer certified refurbished devices with warranties.
Use Price Tracking Tools for Travel Deals. Websites like Google Flights and Hopper can track price trends for flights and hotels.
SHORT SPOTLIGHT 🌭
Hot Dog Toaster
![]() | Sometimes I like to post clips of older content on YouTube Shorts. A recent Short of mine that has gotten some attention is the Hot Dog Toaster that I tested back in 2020. It seems to be almost purely a novelty item, but 4 years later it still draws interest. Check out that Short here, or if you are feeling adventurous, take a trip back to 2020 and watch the full video. |
IN THE NEWS 📰
Honey Drama!

YouTube is all over the Honey Drama
I haven’t seen this level of drama on YouTube since the Mr. Beast allegations earlier this year. This time, the spotlight is on the Honey browser extension, and it’s a story you don’t want to miss. A recent video has sparked a flurry of claims, including accusations of stealing affiliate links and charging for discount codes that aren’t the lowest available. If you haven’t been following the buzz, it’s a fascinating and eye-opening watch.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah! I’m taking a few days off to enjoy the holidays, but I’ll be back soon with more regular uploads. It’s hard to believe we’re already gearing up for 2025, but I’m excited for what’s ahead!
Until next time,
James
