New Video Alert: Escape Toast, Edible Bowls, and More!

Two kitchen gadgets tested, plus F2 at FoodieLand, a throwback chicken sandwich review, and this week's top deals!

Welcome back to another edition of the Freakin’ Reviews Newsletter!

This week, I’m testing out a couple of unique kitchen gadgets, digging into some old favorites, sharing a quick tip you might find handy, and even kicking off a brand-new Facebook Spotlight section. Whether you’re here for the latest videos, a few good deals, or just to see what strange foods I’ve gotten myself into lately, there’s a little something for everyone.

Let’s dive in!

NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
🍞Escape Toast and Edible Bowls?!

The toaster with an escape hatch?

I just posted a new video where I tested out two very different countertop gadgets: one that I might use every day, and one that's more of a once-in-a-while thing.

First up, I tried the West Bend QuikServe Toaster, where the toast doesn't pop out of the top like a normal toaster, but instead it slides out the bottom like a little escape hatch. It's oddly satisfying to watch, even if the toast itself wasn't always perfectly even.

Then I tested the Nostalgia Tortilla Bowl Baker, a longtime viewer request. It's a simple idea: press a tortilla into shape and turn it into a crispy bowl for taco salads or dips. It works, but getting that perfect shape turned out to be a little more of a challenge than I expected!

If you're curious to see toast "escape" and bowls you can actually eat, you can watch the full video here:

DEALS 🏷️
SodaStream Terra: 33% Off

I haven’t officially reviewed a SodaStream product yet, but I have used one before, and its longevity (plus a huge base of loyal users) speaks volumes about the quality. Right now, the SodaStream Terra is on sale for about $60, which is the cheapest I’ve seen it so far this year. If you've been thinking about making the plunge into homemade sparkling water, this might be a great entry point.

Hands-Free Mop Set – 36% Off
Longtime viewers might remember when I tested the In and Out Mop several years ago (watch here). That As Seen on TV product has since disappeared, but I kept using it for years afterward. Thankfully, other models with the same design are now available, and this one is a #1 best seller, currently marked down to around $32.

Chew King Dog Toy – 15% Off
This is a personal favorite, and Bailey has enjoyed this one quite a bit! Just fill it with treats, and it’ll keep your dog busy (and happy) for hours. Right now, this two-pack is at the low end of its normal price range, making it a good time to grab one if your pup needs some extra entertainment.

NEW FREAKIN’ 2 📽️
🍨Freakin’ 2 Invades FoodieLand

Freakin’ 2 Invades FoodieLand!

Earlier this week, I posted a new video over on Freakin' 2, where I took the show on the road to the FoodieLand Food Festival here in Las Vegas. I set out to find the strangest and most unique foods I could, and I definitely wasn't disappointed.

From sushi pizza to deep-fried mac and cheese balls, it was two whirlwind hours of fun, food, and a few surprises along the way.

If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch the full FoodieLand adventure here:

🧼 Quick Tip: Easier Cleanup for Sticky Foods
Spray a light coating of cooking spray on measuring cups or spoons before measuring sticky ingredients like honey, syrup, or peanut butter.
The sticky stuff will slide right out with less mess, and you'll waste less, too.

ON THIS DATE (Well… ALMOST) 🗓️
Chicken Sandwich Comparison (2018)

One of my earliest food reviews was in April 2018!

Fun fact: I realized today that I've never actually posted a video on April 27th before! So this week, we're going one day off, back to April 28, 2018, for a look at one of my earliest food reviews.

In this classic video, my son Brandon and I compared three fast food chicken sandwiches. I even set up my camera on a tripod inside a KFC (without asking permission) just to get the footage!

If you missed this early adventure in the world of Freakin' Reviews, it's a great chance to take a trip back to where it all started.

CAN OPENER COMPARISON

Old School Can Opener Comparison, Facebook-Style

If you enjoy watching videos on Facebook, I'm adding a new section to my newsletters just for you! Each week (or whenever something interesting pops up), I'll highlight a Facebook video that's been getting extra attention.

This week’s Facebook Spotlight is an old favorite: my first Can Opener Comparison video. Even though I made it years ago, it climbed back to the top as my most-viewed Facebook post of the week!

If you missed it the first time around, or just want to revisit a classic, you can check it out below:

That’s it for today! More new videos are already in the works (including an epic Freakin’ 2 filming session I have planned for tomorrow), so stay tuned.

Until next time,
