Today I’ve got a rare Friday release, and it’s a review unlike anything I’ve done before. Freakin’ Reviews is stepping into the “beauty” category with a close look at Plexaderm, the product that’s been all over infomercials for years claiming to instantly reduce under-eye bags.

I’ve also rounded up some fresh Amazon deals and a flashback to the weirdest chair I’ve ever reviewed.

Does Plexaderm Actually Work?

My latest video is live, and today I’m testing something I’ve been seeing advertised on television for years, the supposedly eye bag-reducing Plexaderm. Infomercials for this are compelling, showing drastic reduction in eye bags in just minutes.

I wanted to do more than just test it out, so I picked up a much cheaper alternative called Sudden Change and I tested them both individually and also head-to-head (or should I say face-to-face?).

In the end, I’m not sure my results were highly conclusive, but I do show unbiased results and my full process - including mistakes - along the way. So if you’ve ever wondered if those commercials are real or not, check out my video for the lowdown.

Microwave Splatter Cover: 44% Off

A good splatter cover is one of those things you don’t realize you need until you try using a flimsy alternative. I like this design because it collapses down to save space when not in use. It has strong consumer ratings, and Amazon even notes it as one that “customers usually keep.” At 44% off, it’s a solid deal.

Brown Noise Machine: 24% Off
This might sound odd, but I first picked one up while cat-sitting to help keep my temporary feline friend calm. It offers a wide variety of sounds, some of which literally put ME to sleep rather than the cat! Normally around $22, it’s currently marked down to $16.67, a 24% savings.

Chilled Spoon Trick for Eye Bags
Keep two metal teaspoons in your freezer overnight. In the morning, press the rounded side of the spoons gently under your eyes for a minute or two. The cold helps constrict blood vessels, which can reduce puffiness and temporarily tighten the skin.
