Welcome back, everyone! This week I’ve got a packed update for you: a long-term look at the Hexclad pan I first reviewed way back in 2019, my latest Q&A where I answered nearly 30 of your questions, plus some deals that caught my eye (including an egg gadget and one of my favorite external drives). I’ve also added a quick household tip you can put to use right away.

HexClad 6 Years Later!

I still use my 2019 HexClad, but others haven’t had the same luck.

Back in 2019, I tested the HexClad pan before it was plastered all over TV ads and before the celebrity endorsements and even lawsuits. At the time, I was on the fence: it looked cool, but it discolored easily and seemed overpriced.

Fast-forward to 2025 and I’ve been using the same pan consistently for six years. Along the way, HexClad changed their coating, expanded their lineup, and opinions have been very divided. Some people swear by it while others say it fell apart on them after only a few months.

In this video, I redo a few of my original tests (shrimp, quesadilla, and even the infamous “mixer in the pan” test) to see if mine still performs like it did on day one. I also offer my own speculation as to why opinions remain so divided.

Faster Drying Hack
Toss a clean, dry towel into the dryer with your wet clothes. The towel will absorb some of the moisture and can cut drying time by about 25–30%.

The key is to pull the towel out after 15–20 minutes so it doesn’t start holding the moisture and end up slowing things down.

Simple Kitchen Gadgets (2022)

There is beauty in simplicity!

Exactly three years ago today, I posted a video in which I tested out three simple kitchen gadgets: the Zulay apple corer, so-called gripper clips, and a grocery bag dispenser. Spoiler alert: The Zulay remains in my kitchen drawer and was the surprise of the bunch. Yesterday I posted my monthly Q&A where I tackled nearly 30 viewer questions, and they covered just about everything. Some were product-related, like which items I’ve been most skeptical of (but ended up liking) and the products that have lasted me the longest. Others went in totally different directions: tips for tinnitus sufferers, my favorite classic TV themes, or what I really think about the Beach Boys.

It’s a true mixed bag this time, and I had a lot of fun answering them.
