New Video: Gadgets Under $16
Which budget gadget actually delivered? Plus, a hack to keep your mirror spotless.

This week I’m back with a new round of product tests, a handy bathroom tip, a look back at a past review, and a few deals worth checking out. The weekend ain’t over yet, so kick back and enjoy today’s video, and maybe a few more items found below!
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
3 Gadgets Under $16!
This week, I put three budget-friendly gadgets to the test. All of them were under $16 from Temu and Amazon, and the results were all over the place.
Candy Dispenser Frame (Temu, $15.94): Billed as a “retro-style” wall-mounted snack dispenser, it turned out to be more of a slow-motion peanut delivery system. Peanut M&M’s? Forget it! You’ll get anywhere from zero to three snacks per crank (if you’re lucky), and maybe even a bonus smear on your wall.
Scratch Art Mini Notes (Amazon, $9.29): These rainbow-revealing cards are oddly satisfying for doodles, notes, or killing time. They’re not sticky, and they do make a bit of a mess, but they actually work and are kind of fun.
Temu Survival Whistle ($1.62 for two): This whistle is supposedly “ultra loud,” but it’s more “child’s toy train whistle” than “save-my-life emergency beacon.” I compared it to the much pricier Hyperwhistle, and the results were about as expected!
Only one gadget earned my thumbs-up this time. Want to see all the tests (and hear how big the whistle difference really is)? Watch the full video here:

DEALS 🏷️
Mosquito Repellent: 30% Off

For my first 29 years in Vegas, I never got a single mosquito bite. In the last two years I’ve had dozens. That sent me hunting for every anti-mosquito gadget I could find, including this rechargeable repellent. It needs nightly charging and occasional refills, but the bite-free results are worth it. Usually $50, now marked down to $35.
Digital Food Scale: 47% Off
This popular, highly-rated scale usually hovers higher in price, but right now it’s at the low end of its usual range. Finding a reliable kitchen gadget under $10 is rare these days, so if you’ve been meaning to grab one, now’s the time.
Blue Light Glasses: 18% Off
I only recently jumped on the blue light glasses bandwagon, but I’m already a convert. These offer maximum protection and are currently 18% off. Some YouTubers wear them just for style, but for me, they’re a headache-saver, as I can work longer without my eyes or head protesting.
Bathrooom Tip
Keep a microfiber cloth in your bathroom and do a 10-second mirror wipe right after you shower. The steam makes grime and toothpaste spots loosen up, so a quick pass leaves your mirror streak-free with no cleaner needed.

Lizard Flare (2022)
Three years ago yesterday, I reviewed the As Seen on TV Lizard Flare, an LED road flare, and compared it to a popular Amazon alternative. Both lived up to their claims of being visible from a mile away and lasting for hours. I even ran a year-long test (which you can see in this update video), leaving batteries in each to see if they’d slowly drain over time (and they didn’t). Small, bright, and long-lasting, I still think they’re a smart addition to any car emergency kit.

📺 My Top 10 for August 2025 has been updated! With all the content I’ve posted lately, my Top 10 has been evolving almost daily - except those same three Ninja products that insist on taking up the bottom spots of the chart every week. Check out the full playlist to see if there’s a gem you missed, or a video worth rewatching!
That’s it for this today’s roundup. If you try any of the products or tips I mentioned, I’d love to hear how they worked for you. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next video, hopefully with fewer mosquito bites and more working gadgets!
Until next time,
James
