New Video: Finds or Fails?

Testing three kitchen gadgets plus a bonus item by request!

This week’s video is locked and loaded. As of the time this newsletter is being sent, today’s video is not public - but it is available to you! I’ll make it public a bit later today, but why wait when you can check it out now?

I’m still adjusting to my once-a-week posting schedule, and I have to admit that I enjoy being able to take my time to make videos a bit more involved without the pressure of posting multiple reviews in one week.

So let’s dive into today’s video, F2 vlogs, and fresh Amazon deals now!

NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Kitchen Gadget Finds or Fails?

Some worked well… others, not so much!

I’m back with another Finds or Fails review, and this one covers three very different kitchen gadgets plus a bonus non-kitchen item at the end. I put an adjustable measuring cup from Dreamfarm through a real baking test, tried to tame rock-hard butter with a heated butter knife, and was surprised by how well a budget spiralizer/slicer/grater performed. I also wrapped things up with a flat LED book light that’s been all over social media to see if it’s actually worth owning.

Some of these ended up earning a permanent spot in my kitchen, and a couple are heading straight for the Boneyard. If you like real-world testing, accuracy checks, and honest pros and cons instead of hype, this one’s for you.

DEALS 🏷️
Steel Cutting Board: 20% Off

As I’ve said numerous times in the past, when I see a #1 Best Seller marked down, my eyes will lock-in! This double-sided stainless steel cutting board features a steel side and nonstick side to meet all of your cutting needs. Consumer ratings are high and this price is at the lowest end of its typical range.

Glocusent Book Light: 38% Off

I tested this one five years ago (review here) and I’d still take this over the book light featured in today’s review. With a 4.7 rating among over 153,000 consumer ratings, this is a safe bet for anyone who needs a little extra light when they read. This is also the lowest price I’ve seen on this one in months.

Carote Fry Pan: 33% Off

This deal has everything going for it: It’s a popular pan (4.6 rating among 16k reviews), under $20, and listed as an item customers usually keep. If you’re in the market for a new pan, I’d start here.

KITCHEN TIP
Use a small bowl of water as your “reset station” when cooking.

When you’re bouncing between sticky, dusty, or greasy ingredients, keep a small bowl of water next to your prep area. Instead of fully washing and drying your hands or utensils every time, a quick dip and wipe on a towel keeps things clean enough to keep moving. It speeds up prep, keeps ingredients from cross-contaminating, and cuts down on constant trips to the sink. It’s especially handy when baking or working with sugar, flour, or oil.

FREAKIN’ 2
Latest Vlog (#66)

How did Feastables stack up?

My latest vlog over on Freakin’ 2 included yet another taste test with the help of Jacey Klein. In this test, we tried Feastables, Tony’s, and Hershey’s in a blind taste test to see how they stacked up. Which one did I declare as “low end”? Check out the link below to see for yourself.

ON THIS DATE 🗓️
Ali Express Gadgets (2021)

Remember when Aliexpress was a major player?

Exactly five years ago today (How is 2021 five years ago already?) I tested out several odd gadgets from Aliexpress. Those items included a “thumb” book holder, steering wheel phone holder, “finger” bookmark, sucker phone stand, and clothes hanger extender. I can’t say any of them found longterm use for me, although the hanger extender I believe is still in my closet, albeit unused. Nevertheless, it was a fun collection to test out, so if you missed it the first time, click the link below to check it out.

SHORT SPOTLIGHT 🎥
Inkless Pens

You may recall my review of “Inkless” pens from a few years ago, which is one of my most-viewed videos ever. This week I posted a short edit of that review, which is being seen for the first time by those who prefer the Shorts side of YouTube.

If you’d like to see that short edit, check it out here.

And if you never caught the full review the first time around, you can see that here.

By the way, that video was thrown together as a “filler” video while I was on vacation!

That’s it for today. I hope you are having a safe and happy February so far. If you’re partaking in the Super Bowl on Sunday, I hope you enjoy it! If not, keep in mind that the Super Bowl is the best time to hit the stores or the gym when everyone else is watching the game!

Until next time,
James
