Early access, latest vlog, and more Deals!

NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
EARLY ACCESS! $30 Smart Glasses?

How good can $30 smart glasses be?

Today’s review is a little different because you’re getting to see it before anyone else!

I just tested a pair of so-called “smart glasses” from Temu that supposedly records 1080p video and mimic some of the features of Ray-Ban Stories for about thirty bucks. I gave them a fair shake with real-world tests at the park, in the car, and even at Town Square here in Las Vegas. Are they worth the $32 I spent?

👓 This video is only available to newsletter subscribers and readers of my website today! I’ll make it public tomorrow morning, but for now you're getting an exclusive first look.

DEALS 🏷️
Bark Deterrent: 67% Off

This is a gadget that might be of use whether you're training your pup or just trying to stop the neighbor's dog keeping you up at night! Normally around $60, it's currently down to about $20. Reviews are solid, and I’ve used a previous model myself. If you've been on the fence about trying one of these, now’s a great time to give it a shot.

🥔 KitchenAid Wire Masher: 35% Off
Here’s another KitchenAid deal worth mentioning. This time it’s their classic wire masher. Personally, I prefer this design when I’m hand-mashing potatoes (and it works great for breaking up ground beef, too). It’s down to around $11 right now, which is a solid price for a name brand staple.

📚 Mead Notebook Set: 33% Off
It’s already time to start thinking about back-to-school shopping… and if you’re stocking up, this set of Mead spiral notebooks is a good grab. Usually priced around $20–$23, it’s now below that range, just in time for the new school year, or for keeping your own notes and to-do lists in an old-school style.

Pet Hair Hack: Rubber Glove Trick

If you have pet hair clinging to your couch, here’s a quick tip that actually works:

Grab a rubber glove (the dishwashing kind), slightly dampen it, and run it over your furniture.
The hair clumps up and is actually easier to remove than using a lint roller or vacuum alone. This works on couches, car seats, or even dog beds.

LATEST VLOG 🗓️
Carlos Santana’s Guitar Turned Into a Snake?

My favorite Woodstock story, plus a “mind blowing” playlist.

Today I posted my weekly public vlog in which I kicked off the day early at the park filming a new product review, but somehow ended up going down a rabbit hole involving Santana, Woodstock, and a certain psychedelic mishap involving a guitar that turned into a snake. If you’ve never heard this story, it’s one of my all-time favorites, and it’s wild.

Also in the vlog, you’ll see some behind-the-scenes footage of the $30 smart glasses linked above. There’s also additional footage from Town Square, and I share a strange playlist I made with one band per decade that blew me away. It's kind of all over the place, but that’s part of the fun.

ON THIS DATE 🗓️
Amazon Under $10 (2024)

What can you buy for $10 on Amazon?

Today I learned that I’ve never posted a video on August 2nd before! So for today’s “On This Date” we’ll pick from a host of August 3rd choices! And on August 3, 2024 I posted a review of 9 Amazon products under $10. This collection included everything from a cooling patch and peach pitter, to a laundry door prop and something called “Spud Dude.” It’s one of my longer videos, but there’s a little of something for everyone in this one.

Don’t want to watch it? You can read my written version here.

That’s it for today! If you end up trying any of these deals, or if you’ve got your own tricks for battling pet hair, hit reply and let me know. I always enjoy hearing your take. Don’t forget that this early access video will go public tomorrow, but until then it’s just between us!

Until next time,
James
