New Video: Cuisinart FastFreeze & Early Holiday Savings
A new ice cream maker review, a nostalgic throwback, and a few smart deals to kick off the season.

This week I’m diving back into the ice cream realm with the Cuisinart FastFreeze Ice Cream Maker. It’s smaller and quieter than most machines I’ve tested, and it actually turned out some impressive results. Plus, I’ve got a few cool extras this week: a nostalgic flashback, a handy freezer tip, and a few Amazon deals worth checking out before the holiday rush kicks in. Let’s dive in!
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Cuisinart FastFreeze Ice Cream Maker!
In my latest video, I tested the Cuisinart FastFreeze, which some people are calling a smaller, quieter alternative to the Ninja Creami. It promises homemade ice cream, milkshakes, sorbet, slushies, and mix-ins, all from a compact unit that fits in a drawer.
I tried a few recipes straight from the included guide: simple vanilla, chocolate cookies-and-cream, a protein ice cream, and even an apple-juice slushie. Most turned out well, but it wasn’t a 100% success rate. Overall, I was impressed by how quick and quiet it was for its size.
If you’ve been curious about ice cream makers like this, or just want to see how this $120 gadget stacks up in real-world use, you can check out the full video here:

DEALS 🏷️
Govee Christmas Lights: 40% Off

It’s late October, and not too early to start planning your holiday decorations! If you’re after some modern smart lights, this set from Govee is 40% off right now. They normally sell for around $80 but are currently $48. With a 4.7-star rating and over 1,400 reviews, these are a solid pick for the season.
Moving Bags: 51% Off
This may not be the most exciting deal, but it is practical! After helping someone move recently, I realized how much easier these would’ve made things. They’re extra large, have sturdy handles, and fold down for compact storage. At more than half off, they’re perfect for moving, organizing, or even long-term storage.
Crock-Pot Slow Cooker: 40% Off
With Thanksgiving just five weeks away, it’s a great time to upgrade your kitchen gear. This 7-quart Crock-Pot is 40% off and ideal for big batches or family meals. My parents swore by Crock-Pots when I was growing up, and I still use one myself. It’s a classic kitchen staple that’s hard to beat at this price.
Keep Ice Cream Scoopable!
If your ice cream turns into a brick in the freezer, try storing the container inside a zip-top freezer bag. It traps a layer of air around it, reducing ice crystal formation and keeping it softer and easier to scoop.
Secret Vlog!
Handy Heater Pure Warmth + 5-Year Anniversary
Exactly four years ago today, I reviewed the Handy Heater Pure Warmth. This was fitting, because it fell on the fifth anniversary of my very first video, which was a review of the original Handy Heater in 2016. I also reacted to my 2016 debut, making it a double dose of nostalgia. What’s funny is that I’m now almost as far removed from that video as I was from the original when I filmed it. Even if you’re not into space heaters, it’s worth a watch just to see my reaction to where it all started.
📺 My Top 10 for October 2025 is updated! There have been a few small changes in my Top 10 for October, with the top two spots changing places - and the Ninja Crispi holding onto the #10 spot yet again? Check out the full playlist to see if there’s a gem you missed, or a video worth rewatching!
SHORT SPOTLIGHT 🎥
BananaLoca
![]() | In today’s Short Spotlight, I’m featuring my latest public short for the Banana Loca. This one started as a member-only review a couple of years ago, but I recently re-edited and shared it with everyone. The short version has been picking up a bit of traction lately, proving that even older reviews can find new life in short form. If you missed the full review, you can check it out here. |
That wraps up today’s newsletter! Between the FastFreeze review, a nostalgic look back at the Handy Heater, and a few early holiday deals, that’s probably enough for today! Thank you as always for reading and subscribing to this newsletter. I hope to be back this weekend with my next review, although I haven’t quite figured out what that will be yet!
Stay tuned!
James
