It’s a bit of déjà vu this week. In early May last year, I tested out an expensive Shark fan with a misting function and a popcorn segment for Freakin’ 2. And here I am a year later testing out another expensive Shark fan with a misting function and popcorn-themed Freakin’ 2 test! I’ve also got fresh Amazon deals, a flashback to 2024, and more.
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Can This Possibly Be Worth $150?
This week I tested the new Shark ChillPill, a $150 personal cooling gadget that claims to combine a fan, cooling plate, and misting function into one compact device.
Since I’m in Las Vegas, I figured this would be the perfect place to see what it could really do. I tried it outside in the heat, inside a hot car, measured the wind speed, checked the cooling plate with my thermal imager, timed the misting function, and even compared it briefly to a cheaper fan I reviewed recently.
There were a few things I genuinely liked, especially the cooling plate and the battery life, but there were also some pretty big limitations that surprised me. For something this expensive, I expected fewer compromises.

DEALS 🏷️
Coolify 2S: 15% Off

Speaking of personal cooling gadgets… the Coolify neck fan is still my favorite. This includes two large cooling plates and a fan that combine for the best personal cooling product I’ve tried to date. The current 2S model is the lowest I’ve seen in months. You can also check out my Coolify2 review here.
Hydroflask 64oz Bottle: 25% Off
If your current water bottle just doesn’t hold enough for your needs, take a look at this Hydroflask 64oz bottle, which sports a 4.6 rating among over 13k reviews. It’s usually $65, so this is a true deal.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2): 15% Off
15% may not sound like a huge savings, but it’s about a $60 savings for this Gen 2 pair of Meta Ray-Bans. If you’re ready to dip your toe into the smart glasses revolution, this is a great place to start.
FREAKIN’ 2
Popcorn Cereal and Other Odd Combos
Earlier this week on Freakin’ 2, I tried out another set of interesting food and drink items. In the first round, it’s a brand new flavor of Cinnamon Toast Crunch alongside a 19th century recipe for popcorn cereal. Then later I tried out a new drink from KFC and a shockingly accurate new flavor of Pringles.

Arctic Air Ice Jet (2024)
Exactly two years ago today, I posted another fan comparison… this time I put the Arctic Air Ice Jet vs the Arctic Air Pure Chill to see how it stacked up. The Arctic Air Ice Jet is still sold, but consumer reviews aren’t exactly stellar. If you’ve seen it in the As Seen on TV aisle, you may want to watch my review before plunking down your hard-earned money!
That’s about it for this week. This is also the last week of my 57th trip around the Sun, and I will hopefully have some birthday footage to show you in an upcoming F2 video. I hope this email finds you well, and I’ll catch you next time!
Until next time,
James
