The weekend is here and I’m back with a new video! Today’s video is all about the pucks… CAKE pucks, that is. This is a review I started a couple weeks ago, but the trial-and-error process made this a much more involved review than I intended… but that’s ok because at least that process led me to some pretty stellar results.

I’ve also got a flashback to laundry gadgets, a new vlog this week, and the usual set of handpicked deals for you to peruse.

Testing a Cake Puck Maker!

With a little practice, these could be the hit of your holiday desserts!

I just uploaded a fun and surprisingly messy review of a gadget called the Benty Cakes CakePuck Maker. It promises “no more finicky cake pops” and claims it can make perfect, professional looking cake pucks with almost no effort. As I discovered, there is definitely a learning curve, but the final results may be worth it.

I tried two recipes over two days (not counting an initial attempt that completely failed). The first was a peppermint patty style puck, which took me a couple of attempts to get right. The second was a peanut butter cup that turned out so good I had a hard time not eating them all before filming the ending. Along the way I discovered what works, what doesn’t, how much chocolate you actually need, and how to avoid the pesky air pockets.

The final pucks looked shiny, solid, and shockingly big. They really do resemble hockey pucks. They look impressive without requiring advanced baking skills. You’ll almost feel like a pro baker if you can pull it off!

Baking Tip: Chill for Clean Cuts
If you ever struggle to slice brownies, bars, cake pucks, or anything with a sticky filling, try chilling them in the fridge for 15 to 20 minutes before cutting. The brief chill firms everything up just enough to keep the shape intact without affecting the texture. Use a warm knife (run it under hot water and wipe it dry) and make slow, gentle cuts. You’ll get cleaner edges, fewer crumbs, and a much better looking final product.
