It’s been brutally hot here in Las Vegas, so I’ve spent a lot more time indoors than usual lately. That at least gave me plenty of time to test a very random batch of gadgets, dig back into a breakfast gadget review from one year ago, round up a few Amazon deals, and spotlight one of my recent Shorts. This week I rounded up five completely random items, and this may be one of the strangest combinations I’ve tested in a while. Ice cube trays are great for portioning and freezing things you might otherwise waste. Try freezing leftover coffee for iced coffee, lemon juice for drinks or recipes, fresh herbs in olive oil, or small portions of broth and sauces. Time to level up your breakfast?
One year ago this week I tested a couple of gadgets designed to level up your breakfast, including a waffle bowl maker and a multifunction egg slicer. Some of my tests produced surprisingly impressive results, while others didn’t go quite as well. SHORT SPOTLIGHT
Butter Mill
In today’s Short Spotlight, I recently posted a short edit of my Butter Mill review, which I tested back in 2023. This kitchen gadget allows you to drop in a stick of butter and create nice ribbons on the fly. I found that it worked pretty well, although cleaning is another story.
