New Video: 4 Lighted Gadgets You'll Actually Use!

2026 is finally here and the holidays are slowly fading in the rearview mirror. I think most of us are still recovering from the hustle, the expenses, and all the food! Now with a new year in focus, I will be making some adjustments as I proceed.

My plan is to aim for one review per week, posted on the weekends. This gives me time to focus my attention on the products without the pressure and rush of trying to squeeze in multiple reviews in a week. It will also allow me to vlog for Freakin’ 2, which is more of a hobby, but I quite enjoy doing it. I also have a new business venture behind the scenes but I’m not ready to unveil that just yet.

One more note… I was unable to include my usual “Deals” in today’s newsletter, but they’ll be back in the next one!

Lighted Gadgets That WORK!

I just posted a new video where I tested four different light-based gadgets, all with very different jobs. From solar butterfly garden lights to a sunrise alarm clock, an emergency flashlight that turns on during a power outage, and a set of inexpensive dusk-to-dawn nightlights, I put each one through real-world use (including cloudy days and rain).

To my surprise and delight, all of them worked at least to some extent. If you’re curious which light-up gadgets are actually worth buying and which ones need the right conditions to shine, the full review is up now.

Household Tip: Choosing the Right Lights

Use warm-white bulbs (2700K–3000K) in lamps and evening lighting, and daylight bulbs (5000K+) only in task areas like garages, offices, or kitchens. Cooler light can subtly keep your brain alert, while warmer light helps your body wind down at night.

If you ever feel “wired” late in the evening for no obvious reason, the color temperature of your lighting may be part of it. Simply swapping bulbs can make a noticeable difference without changing anything else in your routine.
