New Video: 3 Oddly Specific Kitchen Gadgets You Might Actually Use
A knife for watermelon, a gadget for eggs, and cookies that practically press themselves.

Hello everyone!
A new kitchen gadget video just dropped! Also, I’m trying something new with my posting schedule through at least the end of June. On days when I’m not posting a regular review on YouTube, you’ll see a vlog instead, either a public one or one just for members. These vlogs cover everything from behind-the-scenes moments to random musings and offbeat topics that don’t quite fit into a traditional review.
Starting this week, I’ll also be featuring some of those vlogs right here in the newsletter, alongside deals, updates, and whatever weird gadgets I’m testing that week. Let’s dive in…
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
3 Oddly Specific Kitchen Gadgets You Might Actually Use!
I just posted a new video where I test out three kitchen gadgets that are surprisingly… oddly specific. One is a watermelon knife, one stamps out perfect cookies, and one looks like it belongs in a science lab but somehow makes breakfast sandwiches better.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going in, but spoiler alert: they actually work. I even busted out the Freakin’ Reviews apron for this one, so you know I meant business.
DEALS 🏷️
🍿Presto Popcorn Popper: 30% Off

If you saw my recent vintage vs modern popcorn popper comparison, this was the modern one I used, and it performed great. It has a sleek design, collapses down for easy storage, and right now it’s 30% off. If you’re in the market for an air popper, this one’s worth a look.
🥕 Breville Juicer – 31% Off
I’ve always liked Breville products, and their centrifugal juicer is currently 31% off. This isn’t one of those fake markdowns; it’s a real deal. You get multiple speeds, a built-in froth separator, and a wide 3.5" chute to handle big fruits and veggies without much prep.
🔦 Energizer LED Flashlight – 41% Off
This 1000-lumen flashlight from Energizer is rugged, bright, and currently under $13. That’s a solid deal for a trusted brand. Great for power outages, dog walks, or emergencies.
Keep Bugs Out of Your Pantry!
If you’ve got ants or other bugs sneaking into your kitchen (especially now that it's warming up), try this simple trick: wipe down your counters and baseboards with a vinegar and water mix, about 50/50.
Bugs rely on scent trails to find their way in, and vinegar messes with their GPS. It’s cheap, non-toxic, and oddly satisfying to see them suddenly lose all sense of direction. Just don’t use it on stone surfaces like granite or marble, as vinegar and natural stone don’t mix.
Bonus tip: bay leaves in your pantry can help keep tiny invaders at bay (pun intended).
YOU ASKED!
May 2025 Q&A
Yesterday I dropped my latest monthly Q&A, where I answered 25 of your burning questions. This one covered a little bit of everything, including a few birthday-related questions since my birthday was just last week.
Want to know how often I return products? Whether Billy Mays had anything to do with my beard? Or what I’d change about YouTube if I had the power? Then this Q&A might be worth a watch.
NEW VLOG SERIES!
VLOG 8 - A Mistake?
This week I posted my first real public vlog (Vlog 8) since testing the waters with that “birthday vlog.” That one was technically a member video made public... this one is me going all in.
The vlog is called “This Could Be a Huge Mistake,” and that’s not just clickbait. I talk about why I’m posting more public vlogs, even if YouTube’s algorithm doesn’t like it, and why I think it’s still worth doing.
Also in this one: a humorous rant about movies edited for broadcast TV, including the bizarre ways they censor dialogue.
That’s it for now! If you’ve tried any of the gadgets I featured this week, or if have a favorite oddly specific kitchen tool of your own, I’d love to hear about it. Just reply to this email or drop a comment under the video.
Thanks, as always, for watching, reading, and being part of this Freakin’ journey with me. More to come soon!
Until next time,
James
