New Video: These 3 Gadgets Look Great... But Do They Actually Work?
A gadget review roundup, my latest vlog, some solid deals, and one feature YouTube refuses to add.

Happy Father’s Day!
Hope you're having a great weekend! I've got a fresh batch of content this week, including a new review of three eye-catching gadgets (one was better than I expected), a vlog that dives into a frustrating YouTube issue, and a few deals worth checking out. Plus, I’ve added a quick household hack and a look back at a video from exactly two years ago. Let’s get into it!
NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
3 Gadgets That LOOK Cool… Do They Work?
Some gadgets look amazing in the photos, but in real life it can be a different story. In today’s video, I put three eye-catching Amazon finds to the test:
A robotic pencil sharpener that’s completely hands-free (and looks like a tiny assistant)
A "firework" water blaster that claims to light up the sky (spoiler: kind of...)
A pair of transparent Bluetooth speakers with lights and stereo sound (but are they all flash and no substance?)
I tried them indoors, outdoors, in bright sunlight, and even brought Bailey in for a pool cameo. One of these surprised me, one disappointed, and one might actually stay in my house for good.
DEALS 🏷️
Sony Headphones: 37% Off

Looking for quality wireless headphones from a trusted brand? These Sony headphones usually run about $60, but right now they're just $38. With over 20,000 reviews and a high rating, they’ve definitely earned their reputation.
🔊 Boomerang Speaker – 33% Off
If you caught my recent review of the Monster Boomerang Speaker, you know it’s not for every situation, but I still find myself reaching for it now and then. This version is slightly different from the one I tested, but it’s currently marked down to $60 (I paid nearly $100 for mine!).
🌡️ Digital Thermometer – 33% Off
People often ask about the digital thermometer I use, but its $90 price tag tends to scare folks off. This deal is for a highly rated alternative at just $20, a solid option for anyone looking to upgrade without breaking the bank.
Quick Tip: The “One Basket Per Room” Trick
Struggling with clutter? Try this: keep one small basket in each high-traffic room (living room, kitchen, bedroom). Throughout the day, toss in anything that doesn’t belong: mail, chargers, random items. At the end of the day (or week), do a quick sweep and return things where they go.
It keeps surfaces clear without constant back-and-forth trips, and makes cleanup feel a lot less overwhelming.
ON THIS DATE 🗓️
Egg Poachers (2023)
Two years ago today, I tested out three different egg poachers to see if any of them actually made poaching easier. A couple of them worked okay, but none earned a permanent spot in my kitchen. Still, it’s fun to look back and see how they performed, and how my testing style has (or hasn’t) changed since then.
LATEST VLOG
The Elusive YouTube Feature (Vlog 21)
Yesterday’s public vlog (Vlog 21) covers a wide mix of topics and rabbit holes from my day, but one of the biggest discussions was about AI-generated content and YouTube’s ongoing refusal to give users the option to filter it out. Whether you're curious about that or just want to follow along with a day in my life, it’s all in there.
Thanks, as always, for being part of this community. If you end up trying any of the products from this week’s video or deals section, I’d love to hear your thoughts. And if you missed anything, all the latest is up on YouTube and the blog. Have a great rest of your weekend, and I’ll see you soon.
Until next time,
James
