New Video: Would You Use Any of These 3 Gadgets?

I put a microscope, a weird handle, and an Oreo dunker to the test.

I hope you're having a good week so far! I’ve got a brand-new review up where I test three Amazon gadgets that caught my eye. One was surprisingly great, one was niche but useful, and one was a complete flop! I also posted a new public vlog, which dives into late-night overthinking, a frustrating Facebook feed, and a funny Einstein moment that’s stuck with me. As always, I’ve got a household tip, a look back at a past review, and some current deals worth browsing.

Let’s jump in!

NEW VIDEO ALERT 📽️
Testing 3 Amazon Gadgets!

How useful are these three gadgets?

I just posted a new review: “Testing 3 Amazon Gadgets That Caught My Eye!”

This time around I tried out three very different items:
🔬 A digital microscope that actually blew me away
🤏 A grip-assist product that’s well-made but pretty niche
🥄 And an Oreo dunking gadget that somehow manages to be worse than a fork

You can probably guess which one failed miserably, but check out the full video to see them all in action, including a few unexpected real-world tests.

DEALS 🏷️
🌀Lasko Fan: 13% Off

I’ve reviewed a lot of fans over the years, but surprisingly never one by Lasko, despite the fact that I use a Lasko tower fan like this model every day (In fact I have TWO Laskos at my house!). It’s not only a solid fan, but it also works as an ionizer, and the included remote is a nice bonus. If you’re shopping for fans before the summer heat kicks in, this one is worth checking out while it’s on sale.

🔥 Mueller Electric Kettle – 43% Off
You might remember my kettle review from last year, and it’s still in regular use in my kitchen. Right now, a similar model from the same brand is under $20. No more microwaving or boiling water in a pot! This is the easiest and most efficient way to do it. This is a real sale, and it probably won’t last long.

🥤 Stanley Quencher H2.0 – 40% Off
I paid $45 for this exact model in March, and now it’s down to $27. The Stanley Cup craze might’ve cooled off, but this is still a solid tumbler, and I use mine all the time. Just note that not every color is on sale, so check the “shale” color before adding it to your cart.

A Better Way to Clean Screens
If your TV or monitor always seems to have a layer of dust or mystery smudges on it, here’s a simple method I’ve used that works surprisingly well without scratching or leaving streaks:

1. Turn it off. It’s much easier to see the smudges when the screen is black, and you’re less likely to accidentally trigger anything if it’s a touchscreen.

2. Use a microfiber cloth. Not paper towels or tissues, as those can leave behind lint or even tiny scratches over time.

3. Light mist, not direct spray. Lightly dampen the cloth with a 50/50 mix of distilled water and white vinegar (or just distilled water). Never spray directly onto the screen.

4. Wipe gently in a circular motion, applying just enough pressure to lift smudges. Don’t scrub like it’s a countertop.

5. Follow with a dry cloth to remove any streaks or remaining moisture.

It’s amazing how much better a screen looks once it’s properly cleaned and you might even notice things in your shows or thumbnails you hadn’t before.

Inspirex Smart Toaster (2024)

Would you pay $100 for a toaster?

Exactly one year ago today, I reviewed the $100 Inspirex smart toaster. It’s one of several toasters I’ve tested over the years, and this one actually held its own. I kept even using it for months after the review was done. If you missed it the first time around, it’s still worth checking out. The Inspirex is not only still available on Amazon, but it also tends to go on sale fairly often.

Don’t want to watch it? You can read my written version here.

LATEST VLOG 🗓️
Vlog 14: 3am Problem Solving and Funny Einstein

How not to fall asleep.

My non-review day vlogs are still going strong, and the latest public vlog (#14) is up now. In this one, I talk about Facebook’s frustrating feed, a funny video clip featuring Einstein, and how my brain loves to overthink things late at night. If you’ve been keeping up with the series, be sure to check this one out before the next public vlog drops on Saturday!

That’s all for now! Thanks as always for reading and watching. If you haven’t checked out the latest vlog or review yet, I’d love to hear what you think. And if you score one of the deals from this week’s list, let me know how it works out for you.

Until next time,
James
